Mandl School
INTRODUCTION:
Mandl School, The College of Allied Health is committed to ensuring a positive campus climate in regards to issues of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and gender discrimination. In pursuance of Article 129-B, Mandl conducted an anonymous survey of the entire College community to better understand the perspectives and experiences of our students. The survey was administered during the week of July 16 to July 23, 2018. Mandl intends to use the survey data to improve our policies that support students.
SURVEY RESULTS:
The survey was distributed to all currently enrolled students. Approximately, 194 students responded to the survey. The survey data revealed that 82% of students feel a sense of belonging to the school community; 84% of the respondents expressed the view that faculty and staff treat them fairly; and 91% of the respondents indicated that faculty and staff respect their opinion.
AWARENESS ON POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Students demonstrated that they know the definition of sexual assault (98%), affirmative consent (93%); sexual harassment (99%); and gender discrimination (98%). Approximately 88% of the students indicated that they were well educated on sexual assault, affirmative consent, sexual harassment, and gender discrimination and 87% of the students know how and where to report a sexual assault, sexual harassment and gender discrimination.
The survey results also revealed areas for improvement including campus security (51%), resources to be offered at the school for survivors of dating violence, stalking, and domestic violence (64%).
The College will utilize the feedback received from this survey to help improve our policy, communication means and training regarding Title IX and Enough is Enough by programming more educational workshops and electronic resources to generate better awareness among faculty, administrators, and staff.
